Last year, ImpressCMS was a finalist in the SourceForge Community Choice Awards in the Best New Project category. We didn't make the cutoff to be in the new project category again this year, but we appealed to the community for nominations in Best Project and any others you felt we earned. The finalists were announced today at SourceForge and ImpressCMS was not among them. There are many other high-profile open source projects that did not place among the finalists either and only one content management system is a finalist (Typo 3). We would like to recognize the positive contributions each of these projects has made in the open source arena and we are committed to being among them in future competitions.
The international software portal, Download Chip.eu, now offers ImpressCMS as one of the tools available to download, thanks to the efforts of sato-san. What is Download CHIP.eu?
From their FAQ: An international download community. Members are able to download software and also to recommend the content to be included on the site itself. All recommendations are checked by an editorial team to ensure that downloads are both viable and virus free for inclusion on the site. Members can also write reviews, ask questions relating to downloads and if you have the answers, you can also submit them.

Last year, we were a finalist in the Best New Project Category. The ten projects with the most nominations in each category will become finalists and will be announced on 22 June 2009. Voting will continue from 22 June through 20 July The winners will be announced at a party, held at the Agenda Lounge in San Jose, CA, starting at 6:00 pm PT on the night of July 23rd, during the week of OSCON. |
