Re: Using the Features Tracker to track our features request and wish lists

Yes...there are some questions. I dont want to make a mess in tracker, so:
for example "Completely new notification system " should be a one item or it should be divided into 7 smaller ones?

Should I also collect request from this forum, and some from xoops.org ?

Using the Features Tracker to track our features request and wish lists

Hi everyone,

Could we use our Features tracker at SF to track all our features requests ?

Can someone take the task of adding all the features within our BIG Wish List in our Feature tracker ?

Thoughts ?

Agreed - for myself, I would like to see some "basic" - quick start "mini-modules" ... similar to how Drupal (Droopy - as I call it ) does... giving newcomers some simple tools - but allowing them to load more advanced ones.

Re: A proposition for a true opened developement !

I think this a great idea. As davidl2 said there would be nice to have a div and a live version in the svn. Otherwise is true that this is only for developers. Maybe do this with some part of the code. For others files, like the language files, maybe we can use something like the the module in dev.xoops for uploading new translations for each module. This will allow people who just want to translate, do this in an easy way.

Just an idea....

Sourceforge access

Is there any developer who does not have SF access?

Please post on this thread if you need it

Re: Generating random prefix during installation

Sure, now, there is a word "xoops" in input form, the same can be with randomly generated prefix, can appear but with possibility to change it.

i wrote a small script that did just that, a while ago. it should be in the security thread that gijoe used for his little demonstration a couple years or so ago.

but all in all, you could also use the xoops makepass function to create a random prefix.

I'll add it to the feature list, then can add it to the installer..

good suggestion :)

Another desired feature related to this is the creation of a random DB prefix upon installation.

Re: Generating random prefix during installation

Good idea, but the person doing the installation should be able to override the randomly generated prefix with his own choice. I make up a nonsense word that I can remember since I sometimes have to type it.

Small request : add a quick info about the bug when commiting

Hi everyone,

Just a quick request. Would it be possible that when we fix a bug and commit on SVN, in our log message, in addition of referencing the item ID, to write a little info about the bug, at the very least, the bug item title.

For example, with this log message :
Quote:

Fixed bug #123456

It is hard to know what was fixed... You would need to go on SF and do a search on that item ID. I think the following would be more intuitive :

Quote:

Fixed bug #123456 : the blocks were not saved properly because of a typo in the function abcd()

Let me know !
