Re: Xoops themes work?

Thanks before, MrTheme...

But, I have changed the lines on all style.css and it's still not eliminated the problem for me...

I have try smartfactory lines too. It's not work on ImpressCMS, but when I tried on Xoops 2.3, it works!

Alright, thank you.

If you are simply having problems with the menu displaying its default properties correctly, it is the theme designers fault... the css is hideously mis-formatted.

change:

/*-- µ¼º½²Ëµ¥ --*/ td#mainmenu a { padding: 2px 2px 2px ; color:#3A4F6C;} td#mainmenu a:hover { color : #3366CC;} td#mainmenu a.menuTop { padding: 2px 2px 0px 10px; } td#mainmenu a.menuMain {padding: 2px 2px 0px 10px;} td#mainmenu a.menuSub { padding-left: 24px; background: url(images/arrows2.gif) no-repeat; font-weight: normal; } /*-- Óû§²Ëµ¥ --*/ td#usermenu a {margin: 0; padding: 2px 2px 0px 10px; color: #3A4F6C; background: no-repeat; font-weight: normal; } td#usermenu a:hover {color : #3366cc;} td#usermenu a.menuTop {} td#usermenu a.highlight {}

To:
/*-- µ¼º½²Ëµ¥ --*/ td#mainmenu a {display: block; padding: 2px 2px 2px; color:#3A4F6C;} td#mainmenu a:hover {color: #3366CC;} td#mainmenu a.menuTop {padding: 2px 2px 0px 10px;} td#mainmenu a.menuMain {padding: 2px 2px 0px 10px;} td#mainmenu a.menuSub {padding-left: 24px; background: url(images/arrows2.gif) no-repeat; font-weight: normal;} /*-- Óû§²Ëµ¥ --*/ td#usermenu a {display: block; margin: 0; padding: 2px 2px 0px 10px; color: #3A4F6C; background: no-repeat; font-weight: normal;} td#usermenu a:hover {color: #3366cc;} td#usermenu a.menuTop {} td#usermenu a.highlight {}

As you can see, what I have done here is clean up the css, and remove the spaces... you simply cannot define something like margin and a tab after before you type in the colon.

If you want smartfactory menu's...

change to:
/*-- µ¼º½²Ëµ¥ --*/ td#mainmenu a {display: block; color: #666666; text-align: center; padding-top: 5px; padding-right: 5px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 5px; background-color: #eef2f7; border-left: 1px solid white; border-right: 1px solid white; border-bottom: 1px solid white; vertical-align: top; font-size: 10px;} td#mainmenu a:hover {color: #3366CC;} td#mainmenu a.menuTop {padding: 2px 2px 0px 10px;} td#mainmenu a.menuMain {padding: 2px 2px 0px 10px;} td#mainmenu a.menuSub {padding-left: 24px; background: url(images/arrows2.gif) no-repeat; font-weight: normal;} /*-- Óû§²Ëµ¥ --*/ td#usermenu a {display: block; color: #666666; text-align: center; padding-top: 5px; padding-right: 5px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 5px; background-color: #eef2f7; border-left: 1px solid white; border-right: 1px solid white; border-bottom: 1px solid white; vertical-align: top; font-size: 10px;} td#usermenu a:hover {color: #3366cc;} td#usermenu a.menuTop {} td#usermenu a.highlight {}

HTH

Please remember that you will have to make these changes in both style.css, styleMAC.css, and styleNN.css..

smartfactory.ca has some custom stuff done to it. for example, their menu has this added to it.

color: #666666; text-align: center; padding-top: 5px; padding-right: 5px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 5px; background-color: #eef2f7; border-bottom-width: 1px; border-bottom-style: solid; border-bottom-color: White; border-left-width-value: 1px; border-left-style-value: solid; border-left-color-value: White; border-left-width-ltr-source: physical; border-left-width-rtl-source: physical; border-left-style-ltr-source: physical; border-left-style-rtl-source: physical; border-left-color-ltr-source: physical; border-left-color-rtl-source: physical; border-right-width-value: 1px; border-right-style-value: solid; border-right-color-value: White; border-right-width-ltr-source: physical; border-right-width-rtl-source: physical; border-right-style-ltr-source: physical; border-right-style-rtl-source: physical; border-right-color-ltr-source: physical; border-right-color-rtl-source: physical; vertical-align: top; font-size: 10px;

This will create that nice spaced look you are looking for.

Also, its not a bug persay... xoops made assumptions about the way a menu should be displayed, and by default added display:block to the core. ImpressCMS leaves that decision up to the theme designer. So, if you get a xoops theme that has a menu that doesn't display properly, usually it means the designer neglected to include the display property in their css. In this case. the solution Sublime suggested is the correct one.

Re: Xoops themes work?

I've found something...

I have two impresscms fresh install, the first is 1.0 final and the other is 1.1-20080721-r3748.

Then, I copied the themes below into that installation:
- lucastds02b
- geometric_red (forgot the link)
- imago07

On 1.0, lucastds02b and geometric_red works well (the side menu appears properly), but imago07 sidemenu look same like my attachment before.

On 1.1, all the themes I installed didn't appear properly (sidemenu). Is it a bug?

* I'm using Firefox 3.0.1

Re: Xoops themes work?

Yes, even I have copied that lines into td#usermenu a and td#mainmenu a, the list still didn't appear properly...

Re: Xoops themes work?

It should have..

You have something along the lines of:

Quote:

td#usermenu a
{
display: block;
margin-bottom: 1px;
padding: 4px;
color: #5075b4;
background-color: #eef2f7;
border-left: 8px solid #5e8aca;
font-weight: normal;
}

td#mainmenu a
{
display: block;
margin-bottom: 1px;
padding: 4px;
color: #5075b4;
background-color: #eef2f7;
border-left: 8px solid #5e8aca;
font-weight: normal;
}

right?

Re: Xoops themes work?

How about imago theme like on smartfactory.ca ??
I use it on my xoops site and it works perfectly. But, when I use it on impresscms, the side menu look broken (attachment). The list did'nt display properly...

Is there anything that I can do in order to fix that problem?

Re: How to have the languages flags in the theme

add [ mlimg ] (without spaces, in this site multi-language is enabled) in your theme wherever you want to be shown.

Like this:

English Nederlands

Re: How to have the languages flags in the theme

Use the system block "Language Selection"

Or - the smarty tag:

<{$block.ml_tag}>

Re: Border around banner

MrT,

Thanks for the help. Only had effect on top and bottom of banner, though, so I added the following per Zeta:

top: 7px; right: 5px; padding: 6px;

Now looks like this. Better, but not real close:

actually, in the zeta theme it is a background image.

http://www.xoops.org/themes/zetagenesis/img/bg-ad-top.png

anywho...

you can add borders to your stuff easily, but you are going to want to wrap some divs around the banner cod forst off.

So open up theme.html and do a scan for <{$xoops_banner}>

now, if you dont already wrap some divs around it and give it a class.

<div class="xoops_banner">
<{$xoops_banner}>
</div>

_____

Now save and clear your templates_c then open up your old stylesheet.

add the following.

.xoops_banner { background: url(http://www.xoops.org/themes/zetagenesis/img/bg-ad-top.png); }

now that you have a css class on your banner you can do anything to it. for example.

.xoops_banner:hover {border: 1px solid #ff0; }

Border around banner

I'm using the BlueShine theme, and I changed the header table to include a banner. I would like to add a border or frame around it like on the x(u-no-hoo) site. I think it's in the Zetagenesis theme. I looked at the theme files and can't pick out where this is defined.

Anybody suggestions as to how to do this will be appreciated. It's not super important, though. Just thought it would be nice.
