1. The description tag
2. This is automated - Google will automatically add indexes of pages it feels are important.

Google search result display

When Google'ing a website you will see a link for the page and some text (sometimes sublinks).

(1) The text is usually taken from the page, right? Is it possible to modify this text on Google?
(2) What do I have to do to add sublinks (see "microsoft").

What's the status of which Twitter background to use for icms?

All comments on the posted examples are welcome!

Re: Custom @ImpressCMS Twitter Design Needed

In the next example I've scaled the logos 75% and moved the orange line up.
Also the gradient has been modified.

EDIT

And here with vertically the slogan only:

Re: Custom @ImpressCMS Twitter Design Needed

Thanks for all the work to update the background!

In the latest screenshot, the tops of the letters in ImpressCMS and Twitter all line up. If you could nudge it up until the bottoms of the letters all fall on a line, it would be better. Or, scale ImpressCMS so the tops and the bottoms both line up and it would be fantastic! I would also nudge up the line that goes underneath so it lines up with the top of the content area (see the top right corner, just above the user info area.)

Can we make more use of the right vertical by not repeating ImpressCMS? If you took out the wordmark, you could move the slogan up. I can only see as far as the 'c' in ImpressCMS on my screens (I work mostly on laptops).

We could also work in additional tags, like 'community management system', 'open source', 'open...'

I like the initiative!

Re: Custom @ImpressCMS Twitter Design Needed

We're getting there...
for McDonald!

Can we make both logo's a bit smaller.
Make it 75% of the current size?
I don't really see the real background come out like in the picture.

You have it bigger on your own twitter and it looks good.

No, it's even a little bigger than on my own Twitter page.

I made a screenshot of icmstwit7 on Twitter: http://members.chello.nl/rengelsman/icmstwit07test.jpg

Ok, thanx McDonald.

May I suggest a combination?
[*] Background = icmstwit05.jpg
[*] On the left side vertically our logo + make a lasting impression
[*] The horizontal orange line is fine
[*] On top right corner also our logo (+ make a lasting impression)
[*] The right column ImpressCMS orange :D

I have to think about the left content block, maybe it gets too "busy" again, but how about the background of icmstwit03.jpg for that column?

Can you make 2 variations.
1 with vertical our logo top to bottom readable and the other with our logo bottom to top (so the other way around)

It's not possible to add the logo to the top-right corner with Twitter.
You only can play with the left column of the background.

With Twitter you can set the background and border colour of the right column, see here.
Also the colour of the links and the main background can be set.

Not as far as I know. You only can set the background image and colours.

Here are some more backgrounds for Twitter:

I think the filesize of icmstwit03.jpg is too big, it will slow down the rendering of the Twitter page.

I agree this needs some more work, but at least we've departed from the generic twitter page design.

Re: Custom @ImpressCMS Twitter Design Needed

Agreed on logo and perhaps less decoration on the URL and make it very clear (no drop shadow)? Also, how about using a radial gradient fading to white in the same color scheme, or contrasting as the current network site's gradient, then, pulling the primary colors from the community site and applying them as the custom styles to the main twitter components?

Thoughts?

Much better! Many thanks. A little tweak of the colors and that will definitely do.

What colours do you mean?

On my laptop (1280x800) I can't see the url under the icms-logo. Guess I've to shift the logo+url a little up.
