Re: Skycommunity.lt (2010 version) - website dedicated for lithuanian SkyNet ISP users

You have been busy lately

Thanks for letting us know about these sites and giving us some info about the modules you used to create the content.

I like the minimalistic, clean design of the pages.

Related question to this : Would you be willing to contribute the language files for core and modules to the addons site? They would be in Lithouanian, if I'm correct.

Skycommunity.lt (2010 version) - website dedicated for lithuanian SkyNet ISP users

Another my work - Skycommunity.lt :)

It is alive about 3 months. This site use imBlogging, MainMenuLink, Profile, SimplyWiki modules. Also I created imSources (now You can find it in ICMS SVN), imblogging-anyone, topcontentlinks, google-search modules. imSources imports information related to SkyNet ISP and from this information it generates imBlogging records. imblogging-anyone turns imblogging module to similar thing like FaceBook wall - every registered user can write directly to imBlogging. topcontentlinks every 24 hours reads last imBlogging records and generate list of most popular links in imBlogging records. Google-search integrates google search engine into the site.

This version of Skycommunity.lt is based on ICMS 1.2 core + imControls prealpha. imControls in this site are used for replacing old Xoops comments with something that looks more Web 2.0 style :)

New comments system let not only registered users comment items with credits to them but also anonymous. This new comment system use Ajax for posting comments so currently most spamming bots ignores it :)

For registered users comments form looks like this:

For anonymous users comments form looks like this:

If you want to try this new comment system You can do it right here (sorry, but currently there isn't any english demo of this feature). If You'll write in "Slapyvardis" (in english it's a "NickName") field "MekDrop" (without quotes), dialog will ask You to login into the site for submiting comment (because MekDrop is registered username) :)

Mockus.eu - lithuanian site for one kindergaten

It's not very new site, but because currently in this forum area there aren't new themes, I created one :)

Mockus.eu previously used strange CMS from OpenSolution.org. I switched it to ImpressCMS 1.2 and added modules.

Sad, but not everything what I think is right want was done because client wishes :(

If You interested, old version of this site can be found here.

Oh if you do update to 1.21 - I think you may need to remove the prototype and scriptaculous plugins - unless you're using them

another successful migration- Xoops 2.18 to ICMS

Hi wasnt sure where to post this..

With all my questions involved for other projects and sometimes venting frusteration..I thought I would post some good news from about a month ago...

However, I certainly dont want to be "reviewed" lol!

But I did want to announce that I made another successful migration from Xoops 2.18 to ImpressCMS.

In the process I updated their theme and installed new features...
Still working on the site its quite a bit of stuff to build out...

The new theme was based on the default light ICMS theme..mainly because I like the way the Blocks were Set up..as such you can have a three column layout..fairly easily..but as you can see its a little different than our usual approach as most of the blocks on the HOME page ARE static block content (with custom html). And there is a static Drop down menu as well..added with jscript.

Anyrate...was very happy with the migration.
Still have a lot of work to do as far as content..

Feel free to move this thread to appropriate area as well--

Here are the modules that transfered seamlessly -(Some are old)
-xoopsTube -version 1.0.1
-Smartsection 2.3 final
-news 1.55
-extGallery 1.03
-mastop Publish

A few others...
but not as used..
The ImpressCMS version is a little older---
ImpressCMS 1.1.2 Final

It was just I knew this was stable enough to upgrade from xoops 2.18

Ill probably update to latest version of ICMS soon.
Another Module I experimented with and had to customize its output templates a lot...was the very hard to understand but powerful...(and very French..I dont believe it's been full translated yet..)
Lexique module

Which was real difficult to work with initially..but am very satisfied with results. (health Library) . See3m like this module has immense potential..

Anyrate, if you wish you can view the site, which is for a non-profit, in progress over here...

Hope this helps those 'still on the Fence' about migration...
this is my 3rd such conversion/migration...and I am now working on another plus two new solely ICMS 1.2- powered sites I hope to have up online soon...

As usual thanks for all your support

Really clever

Re: My new personal website & other things

I did! :D It's possible to view my site in different languages without knowing that other languages was translated with google translate! :)

Also, it's possible now not only translate all page but also parts in different languages. For example:

and

There are only two bad things: 1) translated page uses 3-10 times more SQL queries; 2) big text not always are translated correctly.

Auto-translations are made with ImControls.

hi!

thanks for your feedback!
hm, no, the profile module is perfect.
what i am looking for additionally will be done by imblogging to enable all users to create lectures.
with userpage i meant the instant-zero userpage module.
everyone has one static wysiwyg enabled page with this module.
it's not a must, and i am really looking forward to do it with the imblogging module.

Re: learningbyviewing.net

I don't know "userpage" but it seems like this is something that might also be handled with the profile module?
Is there something missing for you in the profile module?

Hi!

Maybe it's a little early to announce, but there is a new ImpressCMS site: learningbyviewing.net

It is my first project with ImpressCMS1.2final and I just wanted to share what's possible for an "average webmaster" to accomplish within 3 or 4 days using this flawless system.

For now, there is installed:
-Content module
-Protector module
-Profile module
-myTube module
-SmartObject Framework
-Happy Linux Framework

To come is:
-imBlogging
-imTagging
-iForum
-Userpage
-Smartpartner
(the personal bookmarks module and maybe more over time)

I will report here when it got further again.
