Ok - in a short while I'll make a list of the modules (and themes) in the current packs in a moment ... together witht he versions - and we can see where they can be updated - together with any suggestions of other modules that can either go in, or replace ones there.

Thats a good idea - I'll do that in a little while.

I notice Sato-San made 3 packages for ImpressCMS.de - it'll be good to look at updates for all 3 I guess

Anyone interested in helping update the Addons Community pack with me, from Sato-san's original pack?

Just been using it once again for a test site - and I realise we've had a few updates since last version.

We should also consider making this a linked-to download for new installs

There is no website (yet) running it. I've added it to the SVN version only.

Re: Automated website backup with rsnapshot

This is a great find Mad! I was reading the results for the Sourceforge awards and one of the projects that was tops in it's category was Luckybackup. I started looking at it and then remembered this tool you recommended. This is simply so much easier and works really well.

- You can use the config file to run a script before and after shutdown. Perfect for shutting down your database/app, taking a backup, and starting it up again.

- Keeps only the delta between the full and subsequent backups which is perfect for not using too much disk space.

- Easy to restore files and understand which backup is which.

Anyway, I had a need to do backups of a new system I have implemented. We normally run all of our database files and binaries on NFS mounts so that they are backed up via snapshots on a filer. This particular application does not support mounting the database over NFS. So we'll just snapshot it to an NFS mount and then snapshot the snapshot if that makes sense. From there, the snapshot is replicated to another box offsite. Took about 5 minutes to configure...seriously.

Re: Automated website backup with rsnapshot

No special requirements other than shell access to the remote machine. If you want to automate the backup jobs via cron then you need to set up key-based SSH authentication so that your backup machine can log in without needing a password.

Re: Automated website backup with rsnapshot

Are there any special requirements in order to be able to use it? Would I be able to use it on a shared hosting server with shell access for example?
