Zarilia CMS + Impress CMS = ???Hey everyone,
I'm new developer of Impress CMS. Previously I was developer of another Xoops fork – Zarilia CMS (dead). In Zarilia CMS there is many nice things that could be added to Impress CMS... So, what do You are thinking about that? Which features do You want to see in next Impress CMS release? :) P.S.: Sorry for such big list... and some parts can be dublicated... but I haven't time to read all Impress forums yet... so some features can be in CMS or in todo list yet... |

FEATURES THAT EXISTS IN CURRENT ZARILIA VERSION AND COULD BE PORTED TO IMPRESS CMSProfile administration
Same thing as in Xoops 2.2.x Add-ons administration Allmost same thing as modules in XOOPS. Multilanguage Yep, it's possible to have multilanguage sites... however administration of this is not fully done... Multisite Yep, it's possible to have multisite sites... however administration of this is not fully done... Modified template engine With it is possible to add needed CSS, Script, Meta anytime when you need ( for example: it's possible to add some Meta tag's only for news module). I saw Impress CMS has something similar but I haven't anything done with it. Zarilia Controls At first I wanna to say: I want that this part will be included in Impress CMS. Because it's part what is most interesting to me. So what is Zarilia Controls? It's very similar things to web Widgets or ActiveX controls: any Zarilia Control is only for one purpose (for example: progress bar, tabs). Zarilia Controls is also framework which extends Xajax (xajax will be only one time loaded per page if it needed – allmost all with it is optimized). Here is some demos of current Zarilia Controls -> http://84.240.29.175/zarilia/Zarilia%20Controls%20Demo.wmv Goal of Zarilia Controls is make more easy way to create new modules (less programming). Settings in files Some settings are storied not in database but instead in special folder in php files. Why? Because reading from text files settings is faster then doing it with database. Add-Ons for Zarilia Zarilia has some special add-ons: [x] Personal Messaging System [x] Advertisement Manager [x] Vanilla bridge (not completed) [x] cpTools (clone module, convert from xoops to zarilia, hash module; not completed) Media player selection Each user can select own multimedia player for contents of site playback. Menu items modification with installed add-ons It's possible todo so. However there is no demo for it. |

Re: Zarilia CMS + Impress CMS = ???Wow MekDrop You really did a lot of impressive work with Zarilla.
The Zarilia Controls are very interesting it sounds like some stuff that would be in the silverstripe cms to me. The SS cms admin has some very nice code/controls. I wish I could watch your demo to understand a little better. Very slow internet connection. err The Xoops 2.2 profiles would be one heck of a start for me. I want something like yogurt as part of the core... Anyway what a great list of features MekDrop! Thanks for your time and a great couple of posts. |

Re: Zarilia CMS + Impress CMS = ???Just a quick notes:
Remember me: included already Users passwords: there is a branch by Vaughan Content administration: branch by RpLima I believed that Zarillia had a "module upload". Modules are submitted directly without ftp. Is it right or I have got a mistake? Really it is an impressive list of features !!!!!!!!!! |

Re: Zarilia CMS + Impress CMS = ???I am very interested in all the features of zarilia... to be included in icms... now... a question.. from where we can start?
About the Zarilia options... i think that they could be added as a extended xoopsform objects... do you have edited objects of the xoops forms? Another question... in wich xoops version is based?? Where i can download the very last code? can you upload it to our svn as marcan and rodrigo do... with their personal versions? i propose that the prefix for the modules to xf (Xoops Family) |

Re: Zarilia CMS + Impress CMS = ???I think Zarilia is based on Xoops 2.0.7.3 but later has merged some newer Xoops code.
About Xoops forks: there is interesting discussion here -> http://www.bcoos.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=20&forum=7 (Zarilia than was known as CodePlus). About Xoops forms and Zarilia: there is now two Forms subsystems. First is allmost the same as in Xoops (in Zarilia is new field types), and other is based on Zarilia Controls Framework, which is more powerfull (it's posible to change form layout or validate form on server side without refreshing page). But it is still incomplete and it looks now more like another experiment than really working and usefull thing... I think it's good idea that in feature all forms in CMS and modules could be replaced with this. Yes, there is a lof of work to merge Zarilia to Impress CMS. That's why I'll be very happy if someone will help me - so many features from Zarilia can come to iCMS sooner :) |

Re: Zarilia CMS + Impress CMS = ???Of course we will help, that's why we are a community.
Zarilia + Impress CMS = Impressia Let's just take 1 feature at a time to merge, ok, because it's a lot of stuff to figure out. |

Re: Zarilia CMS + Impress CMS = ???Yes Zarilia needs to be added to the "Impress SVN" like SmartX and XTXM was. This will make it faster to study and implement into Impress.
Can you do this MekDrop? |
