The simplest ImpressCMS installation guide - an ideaI've had an idea.
I moved to a new house, new city, have tons of work, but I want to do this: The simplest installation guide for iCMS installation. See, when I read website tutorials like "you'll need an FTP program, an editor, a drawing package and..." I get sick. It's all crap. My tutorial will be like: Got Windows? You have everything you need. Now you'll get your own iCMS website up and running in minutes.. No need of FTP programs, Internet Explorer can do FTP services, in a way that is much easier to understand for non techy people. No need of dreamweaver or FrontPage, use iCMS integrated content manager, you got no design skills, OK, let's get a free theme. Now, the first problem: CamStudio screen capture does not install in my computer, don't know why (I have Windows xp64). |

Re: The simplest ImpressCMS installation guide - an ideaOK, first draft, in Open Office program. I think it's too long for a tutorial, so ideas to explain the same stuff using less text is welcome:
(sidenote) what about allowing PDF files in the forum? |

Re: The simplest ImpressCMS installation guide - an ideaIt's a Xara document. It can be ported to Illustrator, then translate the text directly in Illustrator or translate the original OpenDocument file, then compose the text again in Xara / Illustrator.
When everything is ready, including screenshots, I'll post here the file in a format you can edit. |

Re: The simplest ImpressCMS installation guide - an ideaHi all
Did you try the latest version 2.6.x of camstudio from the snv nachenko??? http://camstudio.org/blog/ A user told me that he can install it on 64bit system, the same problem he had on a vista installation, but he must load a new version from msvcp71.dll, after it works! http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msvcp71 Greetings Andy |

Re: The simplest ImpressCMS installation guide - an ideaThanks, exp. I'll have a look at it when I finish "paper" version.
Now, I've found another problem: some language packages, are GZipped. This totally defeats the purpose of the tutorial, as Windows can't open GZip files without extensions. ZIP is the most popular compression format, please use ZIP whenever possible. |
