Google search result display

When Google'ing a website you will see a link for the page and some text (sometimes sublinks).

(1) The text is usually taken from the page, right? Is it possible to modify this text on Google?
(2) What do I have to do to add sublinks (see "microsoft").

Re: Google search result display

1. The description tag
2. This is automated - Google will automatically add indexes of pages it feels are important.

From the man, himself (whether it is still relevant or not is up to you and Google) http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/video-anatomy-of-a-search-snippet/
