Modules Pack: Addons

Anyone interested in helping update the Addons Community pack with me, from Sato-san's original pack?

Just been using it once again for a test site - and I realise we've had a few updates since last version.

We should also consider making this a linked-to download for new installs

Would help you updating/repacking the pack. There will be also a lot of work to get the modules working

(Was that you helping with Tag the other day? Tag + News are two modules that I think should be included when they get to a final stage.)

I notice Sato-San made 3 packages for ImpressCMS.de - it'll be good to look at updates for all 3 I guess

Ok - in a short while I'll make a list of the modules (and themes) in the current packs in a moment ... together witht he versions - and we can see where they can be updated - together with any suggestions of other modules that can either go in, or replace ones there.

I'll start testing the required modules with current icms and 1.3beta. Also I will test the themes, that they're working well. Maybe we should think about repacking smartsection again as far as it's unknown how to get a working version for 1.3. Any plans for this?

Well I know that SmartSection will need some updates for php5.

I've actually a few module commits to make later - with a few updates added... although I could do with a little code help for some of them.

I know in the above list that Impression and SimplyWiki are close to a new release... and Contact? I'm sure there's a new contact module which may be worth replacing it with?

Anyway - I'll try and add the other module pack lists in a moment - then we can start looking at the versions that need updating ... and asking people for suggestions for alternatives.

May also be worth considering looking at the standardisation of admin side on some of the modules.

But for this pack I would say, we should use a simple module like contact. IT's simple enough, so that everybody could handle it. especially new users..

In community-pack is guestbook. It's buggy in current version (admin doesn't get an email-notification, posted this some long time ago..) and doesn't work with 1.3 final.
In community-pack is also included 'members', which could be removed since profile-module was integrated.
NewBB and 'Umfrage'.. good question what to do with this Hopefully iforum will work anytime..
With 'xcgal' I'm not sure. But tadgallery works with all Versions. Will test 'xcgal' later..
Wfdownloads will work with 1.3 again, I'm sure with this
And Multi-Menu -> never worked with this. Will test this and smart-modules, too..

I think we definately need a shared google spreadsheet and document for this to keep track of it

Instead of members we could pack membership into, which is a good module in communities. Also News and Tag should be inside the package.

News sounds like a good idea. I think the original pack was compiled before Underdog started his work on updating the module.

I'm going to update Underdog's test pack in a little while so we can test the 3 modules (spotlight, news and tag) as they currently stand... getting a final release on these is certainly a must.

mean this.. works good with icms 1.2.4 AND 1.3 final. Do not know the other one. But this in trunk is a nice small contact-module..
