Downloads Site text: Submitting Modules/ExtentionsTo be able to maintain a good service with ImpressCMS Downloads we need to place some guidelines on the submissions of new content.
Please provide the following required information in your submission: 1. Version status. Post only the final version of your modules/extensions. You can either give a URL to your own download area (your support site), the URL to the project site of your module, or post the .zip/tar file. If you post the .zip/tar file, we will add a copy of it to the ImpressCMS SourceForge.net File Release System, and ensure the primary download link points there, thus ensuring its availability to all. 2. Full description. Give a description of the purpose of your module. Including the php/mysql + ImpressCMS version your module is compatible with and detail the install and upgrade processes 3. Readme. Your file must include the readme/changelog/upgrade txt files within your module package that detail points 2+3+4 above. 4. License. Specify license. Further details on required information can be found here |

Re: Downloads Site text: Submitting Modules/Extentionsabout : "21. Version status. Post only the final version of your modules/extensions. You can either..."
It must be changed: we decided allow beta or alpha releases in xoopsaddons and really it is a good choice (d3forum is beta release, for example). The problem is that normally the module authors does not mention: 1.- Release clase (final, beta, RC, aplha????) 2.- PHP or MySQL compatible versions. And when I said: "normally" I know that I said. After I submitted 150 modules in xoopsaddons, I was fool. Why is than difficult express basic informations when a module is published? |

Re: Downloads Site text: Submitting Modules/ExtentionsLet's rename the "RC" graphic to also specify "unknown"... then we can have beta, final and "unknown".
Then problem solved ![]() Yes - agreed - so long as the module is not specified as alpha, it should be considered for inclusion |

Re: Downloads Site text: Submitting Modules/Extentions1/2 off-topic...
![]() I am thinking of some ways to encourage developers to submit their versions Alpha but not in addons, but elsewhere. An alternative to facilitate this is perhaps the blog.impresscms.org where you can announce this new alpha or a special forum to receive these new modules with alpha status for tests. It is very common the developer also request a small group of test for an alpha version and we encourage that. If there is any sector as: Send your alpha version here for tests I think that would be welcome and used by employees, documentadores and translators. in portuguese: Estou pensando em algumas maneiras de incentivar os desenvolvedores para enviar suas versões Alfa mas não em addons e sim em outro local. [Edited for myself] |
