I’ve been spending the past few days working on the new wiki for ImpressCMS, which has posed some challenges. It’s not that I haven’t set up a wiki before or written and organized documentation. It is precisely because I have done those that makes this a little challenging.
The ImpressCMS wiki will encompass all the tips, documentation, FAQs, tutorials, best practices and guides that will expand and improve the use and development of ImpressCMS. As with any wiki project for an open source content management system, there are a lot of things that are common elements. Since I have done this before, it would seem fairly simple to replicate what I have done before into the new wiki. I wrote it, I played a part in organizing it and I chose to leave it behind, start over and find new ways to present a lot of similar information.
I do bring the experiences with me, though, and a great group of other wiki collaborators - without them, this would be a much longer process. Anyway, within the next few days, we’ll have the basic structure and translations started and we will open the wiki to start adding the regular content - all contributions will be encouraged!
